    Class name:     Intermediate Competition Agility

    Target dogs and age range:     For dog and handlers competing/working at the Open or above level of agility.

    Goals:     1. Continuing improvement of handler skills

                  2.Continuing improvement of dog’s ability to perform the obstacles

                  3. Continuing improvement of team communication skills

                  4. Increase team’s ability to handle various course challenges

           Prerequisites:     Dogs must be confident on all the equipment (including the weaves).

                                    Handlers must have taken the novice competition class (or equivalent) and must have reliable off-leash control.

                                    Permission of the instructor required.

Promotion Requirements:     Must have completed the Open title. Permission of Advanced Competition Class instructor required.

Class size and duration:     Limit of 8 handler/dog teams. 8-week series of one hour classes

Publications for instructor guidance:     Clean Run Magazine, Clean Run Book of Agility Games

Skills covered in class:     Continued work on front, rear, and blind crosses, v-sets, distance work, dog and handler communication.

Obstacles:     All AKC regulation obstacles
