Novice Competition Obedience

Target Dog and Age Range: |
Dogs whose handlers want to pursue competition obedience,6 months and up |
Goals: |
To introduce skills needed for obedience competition |
Prerequisite skills: |
It is recommended that the dog and handler complete a basic obedience class using positive reinforcement methods before enrolling in this class. The GLKC Basic Obedience (Beginning Clicker) or CGC classes are recommended. |
Promotion requirements: |
The dog and handler must have received one or more legs (score of 170 or higher) at a Novice level obedience competition. |
Class size, duration: |
Maximum 6 dog/handler teams, 8 weeks, one hour per week. |

Advanced Competition Obedience
The goal of this class is to prepare the dog for the advanced levels of competition obedience.

Target Dog and Age Range: |
In order to be in this class, the dog must have a novice title from AKC or another venue that offers competition obedience. A dog younger than a year would not be eligible and there is no upper end age requirement. |

The goal of this class is to prepare the dog for the advanced levels of competition obedience. |
Prerequisite skills: |
A novice title from any venue offering obedience or GLKC advanced novice class. |
Promotion requirements: |
This is a continuing class as it is the upper level there is no promotion |
Class size, duration: |
No more than 8 dogs. Eight week session |
